Values
-
Our first value - love. We believe we all want to love and be loved and we hold this at our core. Inspired by the principles and skills of loving from Shalom Mountain, love can be defined by the following:
Seeing - I do not look over or through you, I see you in your uniqueness.
Hearing - I listen to what you are saying by taking in your words, body language, energy body, and spirit.
Honouring of Feelings and Ideas - I recognize your right to think and feel as you do.
Having Good Will - I will you good and not evil in a genuine way. I care about you.
Responding to Need - If you let me know what your needs are, within the limits of my value system and own boundaries, I will not run away. I will be there for you. I will stay.

We believe that every person already possesses the wisdom, strength, and capacity for growth that they need. Empowerment is the process of reconnecting with your authentic self, trusting the wisdom of your body, and expressing your truth with greater freedom and self-responsibility. It is the capacity to stand fully in who you are - grounded, open-hearted, and connected both to others and to your own unique gifts.
It involves developing a deep sense of inner power - the feeling that arises when you are centred, embodied, and living authentically. This is not power over others, nor submission to the power of others. Rather, it is the ability to remain connected to yourself (your values, needs, and deepest truths) while engaging openly and honestly with the world around you.
We view empowerment as a foundation for healing, growth, and meaningful change. From this place, people are better able to make aligned choices, build authentic relationships, and share their unique gifts and contributions with the world.

Aliveness refers to being fully able to express what is present in your body and emotions. Aliveness is expressing your power, pain, love, anger, need, and longing in an embodied way. To feel your vitality, your life force energy - sensed in somatic form.
Aliveness is not the absence of suffering, fear, or vulnerability. Rather, it is the capacity to remain connected to ourselves even amidst challenge. It is the feeling of energy moving freely through the body, a sense of being awake to our desires, emotions, relationships, pain, and purpose.
We value aliveness because it allows us to participate more fully in our lives, deepen our connection with others, and bring our unique gifts into the world.
